Advice for Staying Single

I was recently asked to contribute to our ward newsletter offering advice for "surviving and thriving" in the Colonial 1st Ward (aka C1). Which is sort of a funny question, because the most obvious solution for staying in a singles ward is to not get married. I was contacted because I'm one of the 15 longest running members of the Colonial 1st Ward. I was slightly shocked to hear this statistic. I know I've been in DC for a long time (4.5 years), but I didn't realize I was THAT high up on the list for old timers. There are hundreds of people in this ward and coming through this ward all the time, and I've outlived nearly all of them. Sort of awesome and embarrassing, right?

I told my Dad that if I stayed in C1 until I turn 31 I could possibly hold the record for the Longest Ward Member Ever. He said: "There are better records to go for."

I will now be introducing myself in the ward as "Stephanie, one of the 15 longest serving members of this ward."

I think my hair length in this picture can also indicate how long I've been here.

I love the fact that among these people are my best friends in the ward. Why leave?
