Columbia wanted mug shots for their records. I want them for the same reason.
I didn't realize not having the Internet was so debilitating.
Today I had to stay home all day to wait for the Internet man to come. I don't like being told to stay home, especially when there is no Internet. So as Adam was getting ready for class I started to sing the song "When Will My Life Begin" from the movie Tangled, comparing myself to Rapunzel cooped up in her tower all day. We both knew this was ridiculous because A) I haven't spent a full day at home since we moved in and B) Adam actually only had class from 9-10:30 am and was home the rest of the day with me. But my hair IS getting really long so it was fun to toss it around as I sang and danced.
In summary (and unrelated to the Internet):
- Adam and I are in New York, in a lovely apartment that we secured in the nick of time through Columbia housing.
- We spent the last week making our house a home.
- Men and women have very different standards when it comes to that sort of thing.
- I found an Asian market nearby to buy dried seaweed.
- I have already checked out books from the local library.
- Columbia gave me a student card that appears to be no different than the one actual students carry. It opens lots of doors - no literally, it opens lots of doors on campus.
- I hear Club Monaco gives 20 percent discounts to students (even on sale items!).
- After a month of marriage, Adam and I have wed on Facebook.
- Who wants to be our first house guest?
And tonight we are officially connected to the Internet. New life commencement is in full effect.
But when did this blog become about my life? I promise I have better things to talk about.

i laughed at your point on how men and woman create a "home" differently. ohhhh man do i know that one.
i'm so excited to blog stalk you and your newlywed life :)
I do hope you have convinced Adam to retire the air mattress.
I like the life updates, definitely throw them in here or there. or I now that you are more connected, maybe we should set up a skype date.
you can get SO many hookups with that Columbia student card. Free museums (go visit the Cloisters in the Spring!), discounts at J Crew, movie discounts, etc. Work it, mrs.
